This week, we had the pleasure of connecting with our local community as our AI Engineer, Lewis, delivered an introductory talk on artificial intelligence at The Cock Hotel in Wellington on behalf of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

We’re passionate about making AI accessible, and this event was all about demystifying the tech, sharing real-world examples, and starting conversations about how AI is shaping our everyday lives and businesses.

Lewis covered the basics of how AI works, what it can do, and where it’s going — all in a down-to-earth and engaging way. It was fantastic to see such a wide range of people in the audience, from curious beginners to local professionals, all eager to explore the world of AI. The energy in the room was brilliant, and the questions asked showed just how ready our local community is to embrace and understand the potential of AI.

At Purple Frog, outreach like this is a big part of what we do. From school talks and STEM club support to community events like this, we love sharing what we know and inspiring others to explore the world of tech and data.
