In a whirlwind of data-driven excitement, Power BI Sentinel and Purple Frog descended upon the PASS Data Community Summit in Seattle from November 14-17, 2023. The summit was abuzz with insights, innovation, and a splash of superhero-themed flair on our behalf.

Before we get stuck in, Alex ventured over to Redmond to visit the Microsoft HQ for a pre-Microsoft Ignite and PASS SUmmit event! (And to ensure he was prepared for one of the biggest announcements of the year with Microsoft Fabric entering General Availability!)

Alex’s eco session with ‘Prepare for Fabric’

One highlight of the trip was undoubtedly Alex’s show-stopping eco session titled ‘Prepare for Fabric with Power BI Governance, Auditing, and DR.’ Attendees were taken on a journey through the intricacies of Power BI governance, leaving them equipped with the knowledge to tackle the challenges of data management with the finesse of a superhero.

Joe and Nick Bring the thunder to the Exhibit Hall

Meanwhile, Joe and Nick from Purple Frog held down the fort at the exhibit hall, showcasing their prowess in the world of data solutions. The duo didn’t just stop at showcasing their expertise; we made quite the impact with our Seattle-themed booth design. They shared live demos of Power BI Sentinel, shared Power BI and Fabric wisdom, and just had fun.

Token of appreciation…

As a gesture of appreciation for the attendees, Power BI Sentinel gave away 2 Lego sets to worthy winners, turning the summit into a miniature construction zone of creativity. Attendees were not only treated to a wealth of knowledge but also had the chance to take home a piece of the experience, block by block. Luck struck for Nathan, as he took home a brand new Guardians’ ship!

Learning, connections, and a whole lot of fun.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the trip was a resounding success in terms of learning and networking. The Power BI Sentinel team, Alex, Nick, and Joe, seized the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, fostering new relationships that promise to ripple through the data community. Reflecting on the whirlwind adventure, the team expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome they received from the PASS Data Community Summit.
