Purple Frog, in association with www.SQLServerFAQ.com, have launched the Midlands SQL Server User Group.
The SQL Server user group community is growing at a pace, with new user groups being set up across the UK. It provides an ideal way for database professionals to keep up to date with the latest tools and techniques, as well as network with peers over pizza and a beer or three. It’s suitable for all, from those that are just SQL-curious through to the seasoned DBA and Business Intelligence guru.
The user group network has a vast array of expert members to draw speakers from, and can always be relied upon to educate, inform and of course enter tain.
Alex Whittles, lead consultant at Purple Frog, has presented numerous Business Intelligence sessions at user groups before, and identified the lack of any user group activity in the Midlands. Being based in Telford, Purple Frog is ideally located to head up the creation of the new group which will be based in Birmingham.
Our first event will be held on Thursday 10th March 2011 after work at The Old Joint Stock Theatre pub in Birmingham City centre. Map of the venue.
We’re planning to put on one DBA focused session and one BI session, so there should be something for everyone.
It’ll be free to attend, and we’ll put on some food as well.
Keep an eye on Purple Frog News, SQLServerFAQ or @SQLMidlands for further details.
