This week, we saw Laura – our Data Engineer –  bridging the gap between education and industry, by attending a Business Breakfast at Bradley Stoke Community School.

The event highlighted the valuable collaborations taking place between local employers and the school to enhance students’ learning and future opportunities in the realms of Careers and Employability.

Students/attendees heard inspiring examples of how businesses are actively engaging with Bradley Stoke Community School, enriching the curriculum and providing students with crucial real-world insights. A representative from The Careers & Enterprise Company at WECA (West of England Combined Authority) also spoke, outlining how employers can effectively support schools in meeting their benchmarks for careers guidance and offer meaningful work experience placements.

The atmosphere at the Business Breakfast was one of enthusiastic collaboration and a shared commitment to preparing young people for the world of work. Laura expressed her positive impressions of the event, noting the strong sense of community and the dedication of both educators and employers to fostering student success.

Looking ahead, Laura is eager to further contribute to this vital work. She announced her upcoming role as an Enterprise Adviser, a position that will allow her to directly support a school in developing its careers strategy and building impactful partnerships with the business community. She conveyed her anticipation for the next event and her enthusiasm for embarking on this new chapter as an Enterprise Adviser.
