NAW2025: How I Landed The Coolest Apprenticeship Ever!

As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, I encourage anyone considering their next steps to explore the world of apprenticeships. It’s a fantastic way to gain practical skills, build a professional network, and kickstart a rewarding career. Whether you’re fresh out of school or looking to change your career path, apprenticeships offer a unique blend of learning and working that can set you on the path to success.

Here is how my journey started.

Why an apprenticeship?

In recent years, my mindset on life changed dramatically. The onset of COVID marked a turning point as I realised that life would not revert to its normal ways. I found a love for communicating with people, helping people and just having general chit chats – something we used to take for granted.

I knew university life was never going to be for me, I didn’t like the constant theory work or the lectures 24/7 as it didn’t appeal to my preferences. Instead, I was drawn to practical work, something that would keep me on my toes and never have the same day twice. That’s when my tutor introduced me to the concept of apprenticeships, I knew it was something I needed to look into more!

How I got started.

Upon learning that there was a marketing apprenticeship available, I was straight onto it! I emailed my tutor to schedule an interview; this process was straightforward and efficient, starting with a basic math’s and English assessment through my college. Then came the interview… My tutor co-ordinated and liaised between the company and myself, to ensure it worked with everyone’s schedule. Fate hit because a week later, I had a job here at Purple Frog Systems!

What I’ve gained from the apprenticeship.

Purple Frog Systems has given me the chance to interact with a diverse array of professionals, from data engineers to CEO’s. This role has enabled me to travel internationally, collaborate with an exceptional team, and work alongside some of the most intelligent individuals I have ever encountered.

The apprenticeship has not only provided me with invaluable hands-on experience but also allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. Every day presents new challenges and learning opportunities, making my role dynamic and exciting. I get to work on events support every day, graphics for Frog Blogs, design SWAG like pens, flyers and more! I also get the amazing opportunity to travel the world sponsoring events and work the stand as the “rugby tackler” bringing people in for demos with a big smile and getting leads out of it! The support and mentorship I receive from my colleagues have been instrumental in my development, and I am grateful for the chance to contribute to such an innovative company.
