This International Women’s Day, Laura and I had the pleasure of attending an event that showcased the incredible businesswomen shaping the landscape of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. On Friday, 8th March 2024, (Actually on International Women’s Day!) we traveled to High Grosvenor House in Claverley, for the event by FraggleWorks, the Marches Growth Hub, and the Federation of Small Businesses.

The venue set the stage for an empowering and inspiring gathering. As we entered, it was completely buzzing with anticipation from like-minded individuals coming together to celebrate success, share experiences, and foster a sense of community among women in business. With some of the women bringing along their business products, it was great to witness such a welcoming and supportive group.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 was #InspireInclusion, a powerful reminder of the importance of diversity and equal opportunities. Throughout the event, this theme echoed in the stories and advice shared by the distinguished speakers. The organizers had lined up a roster of accomplished women who graciously imparted their insights and top tips from various fields of expertise. They covered topics like spanning entrepreneurship, leadership, and navigating the business landscape as a woman.

As we enjoyed a delicious meal, we listened intently to the stories of these trailblazing women – Roni Savage and Eli Wilkinson – each overcoming challenges and breaking barriers in their respective industries. Their journeys served as a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and the unwavering spirit of female entrepreneurs.

Laura and I had the opportunity to engage with fellow attendees, exchange ideas, and forge new connections that will undoubtedly contribute to our personal and professional growth.

As we left that afternoon, we felt invigorated and inspired by the collective strength and accomplishments of Shropshire’s women in business. It was a day that not only celebrated achievements but also laid the foundation for future collaboration, empowerment, and inclusivity within the local business community.

Here’s to the remarkable women who continue to shape Shropshire’s business landscape, and to many more International Women’s Day celebrations!
